Background info:
|
My background is a little bit of a coloured past! Raised at Anlaby Station, 20 kms north of Kapunda. It’s a Merino Stud farm and cattle for meat. I spent my years at boarding school at Townsend House school for Deaf and Blind Children, Brighton. Moved to Eudunda & later North Adelaide in mainstream schools. Spent my 3 years high school at Speech & Hearing Centre, Underdale High.
Left at15 to start clerical and typing positions with the private and public sector. After studying 2 years as Auslan LOTE, I started teaching in 1991 with TAFESA as lecturer then coordinator from 2001. In my spare time, I enjoy restoration and French polish on antique furniture pieces. I love collecting various musical instruments, special hats from foreign countries. I sometimes play the piano that I was taught at Townsend House. These days at every opportunity I love to travel to places and explore historical, sample cultural life and meet deaf people. My family migrated from Austria 🇦🇹. I hope to visit my cousins again in 2023. |
